    Our Stories

As senior producer, my job description was “make it work,” and I did everything from writing, visual design, sound design to animations and illustrations. I topped everything off by coding and updating the content on a weekly basis.

We called our concept, “co-creation,” because our audience sent us their stories, and we made them into 3 minute animations. We recorded their voices, scanned their photographs or took our own, added music and put everything together. Too bad this was before broadband was widely available.

The Center for Digital Storytelling interviewed me and our producer Kimberly for its Digital Diner Series. Go on, read it.

NYC Story

I only had a few photos for this story, so we ran outside with the digital camera, jumped in a cab, and started shooting. Wendy was a really good sport, since I did really strange things to her head.

Alaska Adventure

I have to confess. This story is about my dear cousin Ruth. We recorded the sound at my apartment, played around with my digital camera, and added everything to her own amazing photos. It ended up being one of the most requested stories at Our Stories.

Polly Platt

This story is about Polly as a young girl, but she didn't have any photographs that weren't recent. So I did the illustrations myself.

Diet Rebel

This was really fun to make since I got to hang around on the set of "Pajama Party" and take photos. And since Katy is a professional, her narration is on the money. And she did it in one take.

I Just Knew

This was one of the first stories I animated at Oxygen (and it shows,) but I have a soft spot for Ana's drama.

Role Model

One of the perks of working at Oxygen was the privilege of meeting women I admire. And Faye was not only gracious, but eloquent.

The Pump

This is a real NY story. I went through several revisions making the water look like water. And you can notice I've done some creative retouching on the brick wall.
